Welcome to
baktron.net, the web source for identification of bacteria by
Intact Cell Mass Spectrometry (ICMS) by MALDI-TOF (matrix assisted laser
desorption time of flight mass spectrometry). By searching masses of the
most abundant biomarker ions, information can be rapidly obtained on the
species of bacterium. This information is to facilitate identification from
cultured organisms, and is not meant for diagnosis or treatment of human
disease. For bacteria not in the database, searching of protein databases
can be performed (see Demeriv
et al reference). All information is taken from peer-reviewed
journals.
